KZ1000R.com Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Day At The Ace Cafe London 2010

by Simon Hill

Hi folks, i thought i might share my day out at the ace cafe in London today,

where they were holding a vintage Japanese motorcycle day.

I must point out that even though there were some lovely old jap bikes,

there was a lot of newish bikes & harleys, but this didn't stop it being a great day out.

It started by meeting a couple of local mates at 8.45am this morning.

I was riding my newly refurbished z1100r lawson rep, another guy on a yamaha rd400dx &

the other on a suzuki rgv500 kevin swantz replica,

we set off from Swindon in Wiltshire on our 100 mile journey,

across the marlborough downs & then onto the A4 main road,

this a great old main road & leads through some great country side all the way to London,

it did start to rain about half way, so we jumped onto the M4 motorway for the rest of the way,

it soon cleared up & become clear, so a quick stop

& a quick wipe over to make sure they looked there best when we pulled into the world famous

ace cafe on the old north circular of London,

for those of you who haven't heard of the ace,

then i recommend that you have at look at there website, its an old bikers cafe from the fifties where

the old 59 club met & the tun up boys who used to race between different junctions often being

chased by the police & often with fatal crashes, it was a truck stop, garage before this,

a tyre bay for many recent years & was even bombed during world war 2,

before its total restoration back to its fifties roots.
